Please follow these simple rules while visiting Portal Of Evil or using these forums.

1. Do not contact the site listed.  Do not email the site owner.  Do not post in their guestbooks.  Do not post in their forums.  If the site owners want to interact with visitors from POE they can come to these forums.
2. Do not post personal contact information.  This includes but is not limited to phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, places of work or real people's names if they only use an alias.
3. Do not stalk another forum poster or site owner.  Do not call them, track them down etc.  This site is about the online worlds of people, not the offline.  This should be covered in point 1 & 2 but some people never catch on unless I spell it out.
4. Do not threaten each other with real acts of violence.  Cartoon acts are okay, but do not make real threats of violence.  Pulling someone's intestines out their ass is still considered a cartoon threat unless the poster is from South Africa.
5. Stay on topic.  The site forums are about the sites.  While we allow some tangents, try and stay on topic. Off topic posts may be deleted.
6. If you want to post off topic, use the friends of poe forum.  The other set forums are defined below.
7. Do not troll post as a site's webmaster or a site's regular visitor. This diminishes the discussion when the real people do show up.
8. Play nice.  This is all in fun and never taken anyone serious.
9. Any threat of hacking poe, damaging the site, or creating a denial of service attack is taken serious.  Unless you want to lose your access from your ISP, do not make such threats.
10. Do not post porn images in the forums. No inline image linking of porn! Your posts will be deleted if they contain pornographic images. If you want to share a pornographic image, link to it. This includes forums for sites rated XXX.

The most common email I get - why didn't you do something about this post?
Very simple.  I run many sites and there are many posts each day.  I simply cannot read all of them.  If there is a post breaking the above rules, please email forumsupport@portalofevil.com.   That is a special new email account that you can email and be assured, no email sent to that account that is about the forums, will ever be posted or displayed to anyone but the required parties (the courts, the police etc).  Please if you see someone posting how they just emailed the webmaster - email me!

For the site owners of a site listed here.
We have these forums so we can discuss your site without disrupting your site.   If you do not like what is being said here, don't read it.  People have a right to post a dissenting opinion about your site, your fetish etc.  Of course you have a right to defend it and can feel free to post here.  But be prepared, this is not the Harvard debating team, people will often go for the funny rather than the logical point.  Every webmaster that has come to our forums and been reasonable has been welcomed and stayed, often swaying the entire forum.  Ben Schumin being an example.

For the friends of site owners of a site listed here.
Let your friend speak for themselves. I have often been sent hate mail from a friend of a site whose webmaster and I traded mails and he was more than happy to be listed.  This happens every week.  Do not speak for someone else.  Speak for yourself and let your friend do the same.

Why do I have to register?
We base the need for registration on IP address. If you are coming from a block of IP's that have been abusive, you will have to register to post.  You will also have to supply a valid email address to get your registration information.  Sorry about this, but the abusers forced this.  If you are told you are not allowed to register, you can email me to discuss the situation.

Where is the site?
Under some circumstances, we ban people from even viewing the sites.  If you did nothing wrong and this happens to you, email me.  If you did something wrong, don't bother emailing.  I have had enough of your bad crazy.
